Greetings Everyone! America voted for change last fall, and now change is knocking on the back door of the healthcare industry. Actually, it's knocking on the front and side doors and trying to pry the windows open as well.

We can all agree that some degree of change needs to happen, but the question is WHO needs to change WHAT, and how much is it going to cost us? And, will it really be "Change We Can Believe In?"

Do you have an opinion on this? We'd like to offer our readers a forum to exchange comments on this subject or any other subject relevant to healthcare. If you have ideas or thoughts you'd like to share in our newspaper, please take a minute and email them to editor@memphismedicalnews.com.

To get your comments in the August edition of Memphis Medical News, please send them in by July 20th. Make sure you sign your email because we won't be printing any anonymous rants or raves.

Speaking of rants and raves, the Provider/Payer focus of our June issue seemed to really stir up a buzz. It's all Bill Appling's fault. We're going to have to tell him to tone it down. (Just kidding, Bill! Bring it on!) See the comments from a reader, sent to Bill about his article on page 15 in our new "The Floor is Yours" section.

I leave you with this quote from George Carlin, "I put a dollar in one of those change machines. Nothing changed." That may be more profound than it seems at first. Have a good summer!
